About Us

Drop the phone, and connect!

KatchUp is a social discovery platform built to help people reconnect in real life. We make it easy to find places where community actually happens: cafés, study spots, parks, events, gyms, bookstores, and other local hangouts that bring people together.

Instead of endless scrolling or awkward online introductions, KatchUp focuses on real-world spaces and shared interests. Whether you’re in high school, college, or new to an area, KatchUp helps you discover where people like you are spending time, and where you might want to show up next.

At its core, KatchUp is about modern third spaces: places that aren’t home or school, but where friendships, ideas, and memories form naturally. By combining location-based discovery with community-driven recommendations, KatchUp turns online discovery into real-life connection.

Less swiping. More showing up.
That’s KatchUp.

Our Story

KatchUp started with something I noticed as a high school student. There really is not an app out there that helps students connect in real life.

A lot of people my age feel lonely, even though we are more connected online than ever. Group chats replace hanging out. Scrolling replaces actually showing up. There are tons of apps for messaging, posting, and dating, but almost nothing that helps students find places to be together without pressure. I kept thinking about how many times people want to hang out, study, or meet new people, but do not know where to go or how to start. Cafés, parks, libraries, gyms, and other everyday spots are where real connections happen, yet there was no platform built around that.

So I built KatchUp.

KatchUp is about helping students find real places to spend time and feel part of something. It is for people who want community without awkward introductions or forced interactions. It is about showing up, being around others, and letting connection happen naturally.

This started as one student noticing a problem. Now it is becoming a way to help students feel less alone and more connected in the real world.
